Here is a biography of the artist from askart.com: "Born in Amherst, Massachusetts, he attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was briefly in Rome and then studied in Paris with Emile Bourdelle and Henri Bouchard. At Salon exhibitions in 1928 and 1929, he won bronze and silver medals. From 1930 to 1933, he studied at the Rinehart School of Sculpture in Baltimore and then spent another three years at the American Academy in New York. He is mainly known for his accomplishments in his long time job as chief associate designer for Steuben Glass. He also did figural public sculpture including work at the National Archives and the Federal Reserve Board buildings."
