Each plate measures 10" diameter and comes with its original grey felt Steuben bag. The current replacement / retail value is approximately $10,000 PER PLATE, or $80,000 for the eight. These plates are from the series numbered 2028 (by Steuben), a series that included 20 different bird images. A few have EXTREMELY LIGHT wear to the backs, but these are all in exceptionally clean and fine condition without chips, cracks or clouding. Beautiful examples of the vanishing American master-craft of hand engraving on crystal with the copper wheel. I note the equivalent retail at $10,000 or more EACH - these sold for $300 each IN 1940! - and although these are not in current production, equivalent copper-wheel engraved items are and none sell for less than $10,000.
