Description
Blueair calls this its "quietest air purifier -- ideal for the bedroom."Here's some company info on the 601:Blueair is the system for people living with allergies, asthma, or other respiratory conditions, or for anyone who wants cleaner, more breathable air. The 601 Model effectively purifies air in rooms as large as 680 square feet (at 6 air changes per hour). Using patented two-stage HEPASilent technology, it captures 99.97% of the tiniest 0.1 micron particles on level one, including allergy-provoking pollen grains, as well as dust mite, mold spore and pet dander particles. The efficient SurroundAir vent system delivers exceptional air exchange (up to 530 cubic feet per minute) without annoying drafts. You’ll also sleep better knowing that your Blueair uses very little energy, earning it the coveted Energy Star rating.Blueair Purifiers are easy to maintain - simply open the unit's lid, lift out and drop in the 3 replacement filters (available below) every 6 months. Choose the optional SmokeStop Filter Kit (also available below) for better protection from smoke and other airborne gases. How HEPASilent Works: 1. Air is drawn into the Blueair system via its ultra-quiet fan. 2. Airborne particles pass through an ion chamber and are electrically charged. This causes them to adhere effortlessly to Blueair's exclusive polypropylene filters. 3. Charged particles are removed in the 3-stage Progressive Filter. Stage 1 captures larger particles like pollen and dust. Stages 2 and 3 filter the smallest particles like cigarette smoke* and exhaust. Together, the encapsulated ion chamber and 3-stage Filtration Process combine to create Blueair's patented HEPASilent technology - delivering maximum airflow with minimum noise.Blueair 601 Features: * HEPASilent filter technology: Traps particles with mechanical and electrostatic filters. * Durable System Housing: Blueair units are made of top-quality galvanized steel so they'll last. * Low Energy Consumption: Clean the air in your home costs about as much as it does to power a single light bulb. * Earth-Friendly: Nontoxic polypropylene filter media is one of the least harmful plastics, plus Blueair's powder coat finish produces no chemical offgassing. * Zero Ozone Emission: Low electrical currents minimize ozone production and a sealed steel housing keeps any ozone contained inside the unit, actually emitting air with less ozone than the incoming air from the room.** * Portability: The Blueair 501 features 4 casters and multiple air intakes so you can put it anywhere. * Sleek Contemporary Design: Blueair has earned one of the most prestigious design awards in Scandinavia, and a spot in a permanent exhibit at The National Museum in Stockholm, * 10 Year Manufacturer's Limited Warranty: Blueair stands behind this purifier. When maintained and used properly, Blueair will cover a variety of issues for up to 10 years from purchase date.Product Specifications * Dimensions - 26"H x 20"W x 13"D * Weight - 35 lbs. * Recommended Room Size - about 22' x 30' or 680 Sq. The lead image is stock from the BlueAir company. The other two photos are my own, of the unit I am selling. My unit is three years old and it is white, just like the unit in the stock image. For some reason my photos have a yellow cast.I have included two of mine own photos to illustrate a couple of flaws in the unit. It is missing one leg. (In the picture I had the unit resting on a roll of tape.) And there are two dents on the side which you should be able to see in picture number two. You can buy replacement legs by mail order from the Blueair company however. New units cost between $600 and $700!
