Description
This is the bottom only to the largest size of cookie jar made by Medalta, circa 1920's-30's. Jar is 11" high and 8" wide at the handles. It is decorated with hand-painted yellow flowers on a pink background and green foliage. There is the normal wear associated with a piece of pottery this age such as rub marks, a couple of paint flakes (small) and grey/black scuff marks. There are imperfections in the pottery as well as the decoration and this is common. Keep in mind: Medalta was not known for perfection and this piece is an excellent example of their early wares. No cracks, crazing or major chips. Small inner rim chip - as shown. Base is marked with the large oval Medalta mark as well as the impressed mark. Interior is a glossy, stoneware. Exterior is flat matte. Personal cheques, money orders and PAYPAL accepted. Buyer to pay shipping. Due to size and weight, $18.00 to W. Canada and $26.00 to E. Canada.
