Old MEI.SEN Set of4 Bisque Figurines "The Four Seasons" Look at this ! Don't miss it! Look at this exquisite set. They are four figures, portraying the four seasons with exceptional detail, and all four are made of the finest in high quality porcelain, left bisque. Everything you would expect from Mei..enThe first one is Spring. The three children are playing in a happy atmosphere with birds and flowers. In the summer, there are also wreath of flowers, while in Autumn, they are drinking wine, and the patterns and details suggest that. In the "Winter" figurine, the children are starting a fireA Vintage set, made in the 1950s or 60s, as the mark suggests. After the splitting of Germany after World War II, the M..ssen factory became part of the socialist Eastern Germany, also known as the German Democratic Republic, or GDRAll four are marked with similar marks and pattern numbersThe statues were made from 18th century molds. These statues were re-issued when the factory used the old molds once again to make these spectacular piecesMeasurements: They are almost identical in size, each one being approx. 4.25" bottom diameter, and 6.5" highCondition: Excellent overall. Three of them are perfect, the Autumn one has been repaired on the arm of the child holding the cup of wine, as is pictured.
