Description
This is a spectacular 19th century porcelain figural group by Meissen, Germany. Two lovers under a tree. The man holding a flower wreath in his right hand and reaching with his left the woman's hand. The couple is outfitted in spectacular attire with very fine modelling, outstanding handpainted detail, colors and design. Behind the woman a reticulated basket filled with flowers. A sheep resting next to the man. Underglaze blue cross swords and mold number 485. on the bottom. No cancelled lines. Measurements are 10 1/4" (26cm) long x 6 1/2" (16.5cm) wide x 10 1/2" (27cm) high. The condition is very good. There might be some professional repairs on a few leaves. A firing crack at the back leg of the sheep (see picture). No other chips or cracks I can see. The figure has been described to the best of my ability. Please ask any questions prior to buying. Thanks for watching!
