Please read the entire auction. For your consideration, a huge set of  Royal Copenhagen, Denmark. "Clarissa" 99 pieces for 12. 12 - dinner plates - 10" - item no. 14058 11 dessert/salad/breakfast plates - 9" - item no 14061 12 soup bowls - 8 1/2" X 1 1/2" - item no. 14064 10 bread and butter plates - 6 3/4" - item no. 14066 12 coffee cups - 4 1/4" X 2 1/2" - item no. 9957 12 coffee cup saucers - 6" - item no. 9957 12 demitasse/teacups -  2 1/2 X 3" - item no. 9956 13 demitasse/teacup saucers - 5 1/4" - item no. 9956 1 large platter - 15" X 10 1/4" X 1 1/2" - item no. 14069 1 coffee pot with lid - 7 1/2" X 9" handle to spout - item no 9949, both pot and lid are numbered the same. 1 teapot with lid - 5 1/3" X 9 1/2" - items no. 14090 - both pot and lid are numbered the same. Of particular interest are the coffeepot, teapot and lids.  You'll notice that the pots have a lip that corresponds with an indentation on the lids.  These rest together for easier and safer pouring.  They won't turn around or fall off as easily.  I like that idea. This set features gold foliage and a bow set on a creamy porcelain.  Each piece is rimmed in gold with another gold inner band beside a peach band.  Each piece is ribbed between the bands. I have inspected each piece carefully and am happy to report that I can find no flaw on any piece.  No chips, crazing, no utensil marks, fleabites or even nibbles. Each piece is hand painted, hand numbered and signed by the artist.  Some are incised with the piece number.  No two pieces are exactly alike.  This is what gives this set the character and charm of hand painted china. Denmark's Royal Copenhagen is world reknown for it's classic elegance and durability and is lovingly handed down from generation to generation. The Royal Copenhagen factory was founded in 1778 under the protection of Queen Juliane Marie by Frantz Heinrich Muller, chemist.  After many years of experimentation and trials, he finally mastered the production of hard porcelain. Interesting to note, the three wavy lines, symbolize Denmark's three staits: Oresund, Store Baelt and Lille Baelt and was adopted in 1778 as Royal Copenhagen's famous trademark.
