Staffordshire Transferware. Beautiful and quite scarce early pearlware Salopian green transfer teapot. This piece is a deep dark green with a blue rim. Usually this pattern is found in dark blue, the dark green Salopian version is a rarity. Unmarked. This teapot dates to the 1820 s to circa 1825. The condition is excellent. No chips, cracks, or repairs. The teapot is nice and clean with little or no wear. The lid is original to the teapot and has the steam hole. The lid has a tiny kiln kiss on the edge (where it touched something while being fired) that is original to the making. A couple tiny blue enamel flakes on the tip of the spout. Some glaze pops and grit original to the making. All in all about as good as condition as you will find in a teapot this age. It is a fabulous early piece and a rarity. Measures about 10 1/2" long and about 6 1/2" tall. BID WITH CONFIDENCE .
