Delft vases De Metalen Pot pair ' Description   Very beautiful and extremely rare pair of vases made by "De Metalen Pot", Delft ca. 1740 Red clay with light blue tinted white glaze and blue paintings with Dutch motives on one side and Faenza style motives on the other - really fine execution !! H. 11" (27,5 cm ) Signed MP   (used between 1721 and ca. 1764) Left vase with one reglued foot and a very tiny glaze chip to the tail of one animal, some more hardly to be noticed very tiny glaze rubbings (pics 6,7). Right vase with reglued knob with slight loss of material, one reglued foot, one flat chip to the rim of the lid, some minor glaze rubbings to the rim of the vase (pics 8,9). Overall good condition.  Please note that auction houses like Sotheby´s don´t sell items like these below 1.500 $, also unrestored ! Professional restoration will be about 150-200 $. But the damages aren´t really striking and it would be o.k. also to keep this nice pair unrestored. Die rechte Vase: geklebter Deckelknauf, geklebter Bruch eines Beines, flacher Chip am Deckelrand, minimale Glasurbereibungen am oberen Gefäßrand (Bilder 8,9).
