Rare American Fostoria Match Box / Hairpin Box & Lid Start Price USD 950.00 Current Price USD 950.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price USD 1,299.95 Reserve Price - Start Time Sunday, November 16, 2008 End Time Sunday, November 23, 2008 Location Escalon, California See more about 'Rare American Fostoria Match Box / Hairpin Box & Lid' Description You are bidding on a Beautiful, RARE,  American Fostoria Match Box or Hairpin Box.  The Bottom is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, fleabites, or rough areas, and the glass is sparkling clear.  The inner rim of the box is completely smooth.  There is a straw mark in the bottom of the box measuring about 1", that is visible in the second picture.  Straw marks are common in these older pieces of glass.  The lid is in Very Good Condition, with no chips, cracks, or fleabites, and the glass is clear.  The lid has a straw mark on it, and some roughness on one of the short sides of the inner rim.  Both of these exceptions are visible in the second picture.  The roughness is not sharp, and possibly is from the manufacturing process.  The Box, without the lid, measures about 1 1/4" high, 3 1/1" long, and 1 3/4" wide.  The match Box is part of the Boudoir set, as shown in the 4th edition of the Seligson Book of page 77, and is the most didfficult piece of the set to find.  The Match Boxes had a very short production run between 1915-1925, making this one VERY OLD and Very hard to find.  The Starting price is quite low,  as well as the buy it now price,  both of which are less than 1/3 of the book price.   Considering they do not come up for auction very often and you almost never find one, this is your opportunity to own this elegant, rare little Box.  What a terrific addition to your collection it would be.   REASONABLE offers will be considered.   Email me if you have any questions about the items or shipping.   I am always glad to combine shipping of items whenever possible.  Shipping charges are for priority mail and include insurance coverage.  Since this is a small, expensive item, I will only ship by Priority mail.   Please wait for the invoice before paying.  Buyer pays actual shipping and insurance charges.
