Description
Rare!! We have been collecting and selling spongeware pottery for 20years and have never come across this rare raised motif. The raised design is a Egyptian type motif featuring a peacock, palm tree and nut type trees, I have shown the side view from the spout down showing Egyptian type pillar, this detail on a pitcher of this type is extremely rare! The top has a raise design of raised circles or buttons , the bottom of the pitcher has the same design under horizontal lines around the pitcher. This pitcher is very large, 8 1/2 " tall and 8 1/2 " from spout to handle. This pitcher is in excellent original condition. I have found a few (three) small pin head size flakes and/or firing errors around the base of the pitcher , outside of that it is excellent condition. This is once in a lifetime chance to add a really unusual and rare piece of pottery to your collection! Note: Some information from another E-bayer, The Peacock Line was made by J.W. McCoy 1899 to 1910 and later by Brush-McCoy 1911 to 1923. Roseville Ohio. these peices were also made in blue and white sponging and included other pieces. The condition of this piece superb. I prefer paypal, but will accept money orders and checks but checks must clear before shipping. I ship priority mail to the US only, insurance is optional but HIGHLY recommended as Iam not responsible once the item is placed in postal hands. I have a 7 day return policy but the item must come back exactly as it was ,mailed to you.
