Description
I started collecting the works of Rene Lalique in 1971 while visiting the Rose Bowl Swap Meet in Pasadena California. Eventually, I purchased vases personally from David Orgell in Beverly Hills, California; New York City, New York and as far away as Paris, France from a dealer by the name of Elisabeth Danenberg. The most important lesson I learned was that, "Condition Is Everything". These vases are in their original condition. Here is a brief description of each vase. ALL are "original" vases produced by Rene Lalique. The first of 3 vases is "Perruches" in a stunning Electric Blue color with a very soft light patina. It is approximately 260 mm high. It was introduced in 1919. It is in the finest condition I have ever seen. There are no chips or cracks in the vase. The second of 3 vases is "Archers" in a fabulous Reddish/Amber color with a very soft light patina. It is approximately 260 mm high. It was introduced in 1921. It is in excellent condition. It should be noted that there are very, very small bubbles and/or blemishes embedded in the glass that appear golden in color, see photos. This is an original condition that occured at the Lalique factory when the vase was produced. There are no chips or cracks in the vase. The third and last vase is "Formosa" in a frosted glass with the original Brown Patina color intact. It is simply beautiful. It is approximately 180 mm high. It was introduced in 1929. It is an excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks in the vase. All 3 vases are "signed", "rare" and "unique". Each vase can be found in the "Catalogue Des Verreries De Rene Lalique" produced in 1932. The Catalogue numbers are: "Perruches" on page 6, No. 876; "Archers" on page 4, No. 893 and "Formosa" on page 8, No. 934. Payment through PayPal is preferred, however, see "PAYMENT" below. Buyer to pay cost of shipping and insurance. Actual insurance & shipping fees to be determined when delivery location is known. Direct pick-up can be arranged in the Los Angeles, CA area. TERMS OF SALE - Cash delivered bank to bank in Los Angeles, CA with immediate hand-over of vases or PayPal is the only other accepted means of payment. All measurements are approximate. I have made every effort to accurately describe the 3 vases, but in the event that errors occur with regards to measurements, I cannot be held responsible. It is the bidder's sole responsibility to be well-informed before bidding. Bidding in this auction indicates that you accept these terms as of the day of the final sale. If there are any questions please feel free to email me.The 3 vases offered in this sale are free of repairs, chips or cracks post production unless noted in the description of each vase. Sizes are approximate. Surface scratches, firing lines, bubbles, stilt marks, firing flaws and base flakes will be noted if I feel that they are objectionable. Many of these flaws, if they exist at all, may have occurred when the vases were produced. Unless I feel that they are objectionable, they will not be mentioned. When I describe a vase as being in "excellent condition", it generally implies that the vase is original and the structure is in fine shape. Art Glass will sometimes contain air bubbles, surface scratches, lines in the making and chips. I will mention anything that I feel to be notable. Discoloration on the interior is usually present when originally produced and will not be noted unless I feel it is excessive. Buyer Premium 7.5% Payment The successful bidder will receive an invoice via email within 2 days from completion of the auction. Please wait till you have received your invoice before contacting me.
