First off. It is the 'Original' and most proven Infrared heater on the market, bar none! It has been around for over 25 years. Solar Comfort is the original, it is safe, reliable and works. The imitations arrived around 2003.No plastic to melt! In my opinion and by experience, Infrared heaters and plastic just do not make sense. I have a Polaroid picture in our store from our customer who had a competitors product that was housed in plastic and it melted. Really! Smoke and plastic smell as it was melting.No fancy digital displays and remotes that are just another thing to go wrong. Solar Comfort keeps it simple and is built to be around for 20 to 30 years or more! The manufacturer still has the original working in his basement still today after 25 plus years.Think about this. Electronics and the chips that run them, change so rapidly. How long will the current chips be the same for the current models being sold? What happens in a few years when it is out of warranty and the electronics are outdated and a new model is in place of it?The Solar Comfort is the safest, highest quality Infrared heater on the market, bar none! It also has the largest heat exchanger (copper & aluminum blend) and the nicest quality case that looks like real furniture. We use a real house hold style breaker for the on/off switch rather than the common Radio Shack style back lit. We also have an automatic safety shut off switch if the heat area ever reached 190degrees. This is important!  What about Solar Comfort vs Comfort Zone?Comfort Zone has only been around since 2007.  Mostly sold in ABS Plastic. The cases have digital displays and remote controls. This is an extra feature that I believe can go wrong.  Digital accessories are destined to fail in time. I have a TV that is only a few years old and already my remote is not working.   Solar comfort is the oldest and the original Zoned Infrared Heater making it the tried and true grandfather to it all. No plastic and added fancy features to go wrong. The main unit is encased in a quality powder coated case with the option of a nice oak case. Uses 4 infrared bulbs that are easy to change and are reliable. Back around 1999-2000, Solar Comfort learned the hard way when it tried the quartz method and quickly went back to the proven safer and more reliable infrared design that works. What is the warranty?Solar Comfort offers a hefty 3 year warranty. This even includes the lamps! It is really a simple system to work on and rarely does anything go wrong. You can expect to enjoy this product for many, many years. Again, we are there for you. You can call our service center anytime during our normal business hours for professional service. That's the way it should be.How large of an area can I expect to heat and for what cost?Good question. It seems to be that sellers of our competition's product  have been promising a lot. From heating for pennies a day, 50% more of heating bill savings, turn off your other heat sources to a 1500w unit heating 1000 or more square feet.No over promising here! The bottom line is that each individuals performance is based on your home or offices insulation quality, drafts, humidity, climate, etc. However, on average you should expect between 600 and 800 sq ft coverage between a $1 and $2 a day depending how much you have it running. The prices of electricity can change the dollar amount. However, it will cut your heating cost dramatically. Our own independent apples to apples test showed Solar Comfort putting out up to 15 degrees more heat than ComfortZone. See image in aution. What makes Solar Comfort better for heating then conventional heating?Solar Comfort Infrared heaters heat more like the sun. The heat transfers more evenly throughout the room rather than moving straight to the ceiling. It is a soft heat. Customer that come into our store commonly say: "It feels like a soft heat!" Another plus is that it is a ZONED heater. This means that you can place it where you need it as it is on casters. It does not remove air which keeps the moisture in the heat which makes the heat heavier.How does it work?The cool air is drawn through a lifetime washable filter by a quiet fan. It is not much louder then a computer. It then travels through 4 True Infrared lamps and up through the highest quality heat exchanger, which then transfers the air to a soothing warmth throughout your room.
