Description
This beautiful sculpture depicting the Venus de Milo rendered in the shades of blue pate de verre glass.  The neck and bust in turquoise, the hips legs and drapery in marine.  A rectangular section, mid-torso has been cut out, removed and placed on a brass stand (shows tarnish, see photos) alongside Venus.  On top of the rectangle is the head of the goddess in gold plated brass.  The statue and the stand both raised on a rectangular, plinth, glass base.  This is a very rare opportunity to purchase a Dali that was commissioned before his death.  I spoke to the folks at Daum recently and they stated that the value is about $96,000.00 in today's market. The measurements are about 15 3/4" H x 10" W x 4 1/2" D   Limited edition 137 / 300.  Signature in cast. Please note that the felt pad on the bottom of the piece shows some wear from being attached to the glass cabinet with earthquake wax.  Otherwise the piece is in perfect condition.  No fixes, scratches, modifications. I have owned this piece since 1991.  It is magnificent.  Brass plaque and certificate of authenticity is included. Founded in 1878, the exclusive French glass maker Daum has been influential in the world of glass art for over a century. Handcrafted in France, every piece is a treasure and a collectible item that will be cherished for generations. This extra ordinary glass is a work of art and a great gift for a special occasion.  The item is embossed with the Daum France signature, but I could not get it in the picture.  The item is in excellent condition. All items are professionally packaged in a double box (I do not have the original box), plenty of bubble pack, and TLC.  Enjoy. Please note that the extra ordinary cost for shipping is the required insurance cost to make sure that if it is damaged in transit. Calculated by UPS automatically. I am not marking shipping up at all. If you have any questions, please drop me a note and I will gladly contact you directly.
