Description
This listing is for the entire group of 10 Spode plates. Varieties depicted include: Loelia Parpurata, Oneidium Papilio Majus, Odontoglossum Pescatoree, Oneideium Ampliatum Majus, Dendrobium Nobile, Dendrobium Phalanopsis Var, Dendrobium Pulchellum, Cattleya Douriana Var Chryso, Cattleya Mendelli Var Mea, and Cattleya Citrina. The plates date from around 1910-20. The variety of orchid is identified on the reverse (see last photo) along with the Spode hallmark and a number representing that the plate is 1 of a series of plates on the same subject. Artist signature appears on this and all of the 10 plates. His name is J. Price. Excellent condition. Gold rimmed. 10 1/2" diameter. Combination of hand enamelling and transfer printing.
